Learn how to use OmniTrackr step by step
Create a free account at OmniTrackr by signing up with your email and a password. After you verify your email, sign in to see the main dashboard with tabs for Movies, TV Shows, Anime, Video Games, Music, and Books. Use the tab bar to switch between categories. Your data is saved to your account and will be there whenever you sign in from any device.
Each category has an "Add" or similar control to create a new entry. Fill in the fields (e.g. title, year, rating). For movies and TV shows, you can often search by title; OmniTrackr will fetch poster and metadata from supported sources when available. Mark items as watched, in progress, or plan-to-watch as needed. You can edit or delete entries from the same tab. Tracking consistently helps you build an accurate history and better statistics.
Keeping a list of what you've watched or played helps you avoid forgetting titles, spot gaps in a series, and see how your tastes change over time. It also makes it easier to recommend things to friends and to get recommendations based on your real history.
You can rate items (e.g. out of 5 or 10) and optionally write a full review. Reviews are stored with the item in your collection. If you enable public reviews in your account settings, your reviews can appear on the public reviews page so others can discover your opinions. Use ratings for quick comparisons and reviews when you want to explain what you liked or disliked.
The Statistics tab shows overview numbers and charts: how many items you've added per category, average ratings, and trends. Use it to see which categories you use most, how your ratings distribute, and how your activity has grown. The dashboard updates as you add or edit entries.
You can send and accept friend requests by username. Once you're friends, you can view each other's collections according to privacy settings. In account settings you control which categories and tabs are visible to friends (or everyone). Notifications will alert you to new friend requests so you can accept or decline.
Under account or settings you'll find options to export your data. OmniTrackr exports your collection as JSON so you can back it up or use it elsewhere. Import lets you bring in previously exported data (e.g. into a new account). This keeps you in control of your data and makes it easy to migrate or duplicate your list.
