About the puzzles

Every puzzle is one title: a movie, TV show, anime, video game, book or album, and the page says which before you start. Six clues go from vague to obvious, usually starting with the year and the kind of story and ending with the characters or the people who made it. The answers range across decades and countries on purpose, from recent hits to older favourites worth finding.

Old puzzles are worth playing even when you have missed the day: your result for each one is kept in this browser, so you can work through the archive at your own pace. Once you have finished, the answer comes with a short note on why the title is worth your time and, where there is one, a link to a guide on what to try next.
